The First Batch of LRT Train Carriages Arrive at Macao

The first batch of the LRT train carriages arrived at Macao today (29th). Upon the completion of a series of customs clearance procedure, it is expected that they can be transported to the “Ocean Station” by next week the soonest.

In the first batch, 4 LRT train carriages and 2 special reparation vehicles in total have been started being delivered from Japan in earlier days. After the maritime transportation which lasted more than a week, the carriages arrived at the Ka Ho Deepwater Pier, Coloane in the morning today (29th), and the respective customs declaration procedure commenced subsequently. Later, arrangements will be made to transport them to the LRT “Ocean Station” near Avenida dos Jogos da Asia Oriental, Taipa consecutively to start various works on tests.

In particular, the lifting works of 2 special reparation vehicles are expected to commence this Saturday (4th), while the transportation of the remaining 4 train carriages can be arranged next week the soonest. At that time, temporary traffic limitation will be implemented at the side of Avenida dos Jogos da Asia Oriental, Taipa which is close to Ocean Garden. Drivers should be reminded.
